The most environmentally-friendly product is one that is never produced. Therefore, the first question when implementing the circular economy is “Is this necessary?” Assessing needs is subjective, but when products are manufactured, in the circular economy they must be used for their original purpose as long as possible. After that, parts can be repaired and re-used. The product should only be sent for recycling after these phases. This means big changes for almost every company which produce products.
